Meet FJC!

We’re a small but mighty group of creative professionals with a knack for making (and fixing) creative messes, eating our way through shoots, and competing for the individual  title of best photographer.

Hint: nobody ever wins.

We believe that creative content has the power to make or break the way your brand is perceived and interpreted by your ideal audience. Because of that, we champion stunning, unordinary and visually intriguing imagery that shows off the story that you have to tell.

Really, all we need is a magic wand to make things official.

We're Huzi & Jesse

The Creators and Founds Behind FJC

Founded in 2016, Jesse started Florence James Collective to pay tribute and memory to her dad. Shortly thereafter, we (Jesse & Huzi) met on an Uber Eats restaurant shoot, and the rest was history.

We quickly realised that we had a special thing going (because living and working together is not everyone’s cup of tea), and since then, have made it our mission to sprinkle our love for vibrant, playful and one-of-a-kind photography and videography in our work with global brands, ever since.

Other important details?

We’re borderline coffee addicts, a little (okay, a lot) sarcastic and silly, and love pairing a good Netflix binge with Malteasers and popcorn.

If you want to keep an eye on our shenanigans, join us on Instagram and TikTok!

Really, with an intro like that, who wouldn’t want to work with us?

A Note From Jesse

Our real reason why

As much as we love to sprinkle colour and joy in the world through creative content, it hasn’t always been a colourful journey.

Now, you might have caught yourself wondering what on earth “Florence James” even means - and you wouldn’t be the first. Florence is my middle name, and James is my dad’s. Prior to his passing, he owned and ran a company called Jessie Jaimes. To put it simply, James is a legacy, created just for us.

When I was 15, my dad was diagnosed with a Level 4 Glioblastoma brain tumor. Over the course of 4 years, I stood by him as he deteriorated from the strong, intelligent and powerful businessman everyone knew and loved, to someone who was barely recognizable. He might have lost his ability to maintain basic functions, but he never lost his fight.

Throughout my childhood, I had the honor of witnessing my dad’s dedication to his business, work ethics and morals. Understandably, I wanted to be just like him. So, when I was 16, I told my dad that I wanted to start a business. His response?

“Okay Bub, let’s put together a business plan.” And that’s where Florence James truly began.

Our Story

Unfortunately, my dad passed away after a 4-year battle at only 45. Deeply saddened by his absence, I created Florence James to distract myself, and feel closer to him. I wanted to create something that would help others, while keeping his legacy alive.

While we might “just” create visual content for businesses, the heart and drive behind what we do comes directly from everything I learned from my dad.

We push through the obstacles of everyday business life, and continue to grow, help and inspire others, because of the memory and legacy my dad left behind. He is the voice in my head powering and pushing Florence James forward, and I can only hope that he’s proud of what we’ve created in honor of him.

Our Mission

Create for a cause

I am a firm believer in the fact that everything happens for a reason, and I know my dad would want me to share our story, while helping others.  We want to bring awareness to this horrible terminal disease, and do our part in being a voice for him while helping others who are battling the same fight.

Like many other cancers, there is neither a cause, nor a cure for Glioblastoma. So, we want to help support the cause to find answers, by donating 5% of each project to The Brain Tumour Charity.

If you’d like to dig deep and help, you can also donate directly to our fundraiser via the link below.

Above all, we appreciate your kindness and willingness to learn while reading through our mission and story. We can’t wait to meet you soon!
